Interesting fact about the Photographer: After travelling with her husband to the southwest in hopes of photographing Native American customs and people, Clara Curtis refused to ever go with Edward to photograph again. She was so troubled by the ruggedness and bare circumstances that her husband chose to be a part of that she stopped looking after her children. As a result, Harold, the oldest, had to take care of his sisters while their mother dedicated her time to charity work, and their father was constantly gone on assignment. (from: Makepeace, Anne.
